Hello friends!
I can’t believe it’s already coming close to October! The year has just flown by. I’ve been hard at work preparing exciting arias and singing in various concerts.
This Thursday (Sept. 30th) will be the final concert for Opera Singer’s Initiative. I’m really excited for the evening because there is always a welcoming crowd and the venues they choose are always beautiful. Please join me on Thursday night for OSI’s Fall Fete. Click here for more info.
Another concert I have coming up this weekend is the final concert in the Opus Opera NY concert series. This one will be at Morris Park Library in the Bronx. Admission is free and it will surely be an excellent afternoon of singing. Please join me for that also. Click here for more info.
As always, thank you for visiting my site and I will see you all soon
xo,
La Toya

Exciting news everyone! I’m going to be singing Mother in Madama Butterfly with Bleecker Street Opera this August. I’ll also be covering Kate Pinkerton!
They are a newly formed company who are trying to keep the spirit of Amato Opera alive! I’m pleased to work with them and am having a great time rehearsing with great colleagues.
Please check out their website or my Upcoming Events page for details.

Hey everyone! I’ve been having an excellent time this summer singing with Opus Opera NY a new company that is doing a Summer Concert Series in various libraries
throughout the city! When I’m not singing in the library, I’m reading in the library! While it’s my favorite place to be year round, I’m especially fond of them in the Summertime.
In addition to reading, I’ve been checking out a bunch of live outdoor concerts! I went to a few of the Met concerts and a NY Philharmonic Concert in celebration of my birthday! Yes, Happy Birthday to me! The Prokofiev Romeo and Juliet was to die for!! I look forward to going to more outdoor events as the Summer progresses.
I’m also enjoying working on new repertoire that I hope to record soon
Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you at my performances.

Hi! Welcome to my brand new website!!
I’m beside myself with excitement because first of all, it’s an awesome looking site and second of all, it’s mine!
It has been a long road from choosing to be an opera singer to studying it in school to, well, now! Brief history of me: I went to Brooklyn Tech HS and took whichever music courses and artistic classes I could. I sang in the musicals and the chorus but went to Purchase College for no reason in particular (that I knew of). I figured majoring in music or theater would be pointless and that I could major in something “a lot more realistic” like News Reporting in some sort of Media major. But before I jumped onto that ship, I checked out the choir at the Music Conservatory. Turns out that it was the Opera Major choir.
Up to that point, I hadn’t been in a closed room full of opera singers singing around me. So, if you’ve been in a room with opera singers before, you can imagine what that was like for me.
To make a long story shorter, I decided to make a career of opera singing and have been dedicating myself to it ever since. After Purchase College, I went to Binghamton University for their joint Master of Music in Opera program/Tri-Cities Resident Artist program. I graduated in 2008 and moved back to my old stomping grounds. Since then, I’ve been working on my voice, making new friends and connections and have been continuing studying my craft.
I look forward to sharing it with each of you. Thanks for reading my blog and check back often for updates!
